London needs a leader who truly understands what it takes to build a business from the ground up, who has lived and worked around the world, and who has experienced firsthand the challenges faced by the people who make London their home. We need a Mayor who will fight tirelessly to make this global city work for everyone.
Let’s build a London that leads the world—not just in finance and culture, but in opportunity, safety, and quality of life. This is our city. This is our time. I invite you to join our movement. Together, we’ll shape a stronger, smarter, and more prosperous future for Londoners and the UK.
Wilford Augustus
Mayor of London Candidate 2028
London is more than just a city—it is the beating heart of our nation, a world-class capital where people from across the globe come to build their future—our shared future.
With 40% of Londoners born outside the UK, 45% from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, and 60% not identifying as White British, London is the most diverse and dynamic city on earth. It is a city of power, history, and global ambition, shaped by the talent and hard work of people from every corner of the world.
But London also faces serious challenges—housing, transport, crime, economic inequality, and the urgent need for smarter, more effective governance that delivers better results for our communities.
My name is Wilford Augustus, and I am a business and political leader standing to be the next Mayor of London in 2028 because our city needs a leader with a global strategic vision—one who will build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous London. A London that works better for us all.
Whilst Britain is my home, my journey started way back when my country of birth, Belize—formerly British Honduras, located on the western shores of the Caribbean in Central America, was still a British colony until 1981.
It was during my early years in Belize that I learned the values that have shaped my life as I travelled the world: self-reliance, civic pride, and the importance of giving back to the community.
As a boy, my mother taught me that 'manners maketh man,' 'the world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page,' and that serving our community is our duty. She also sparked my entrepreneurial spirit. My father, with his deep sense of structure, discipline, and order, taught me the difference between rights, duties, and privileges. Together, they instilled in me the fundamental beliefs of respect, dignity, and free thinking.
As a teenager, I ventured into the world—living and working across Latin America and Scandinavia—before making Britain my home and evolving into a business and political leader.
From the vibrant streets of Bayswater in Central London, I moved to the green and pleasant English town of Chesham in Buckinghamshire, where I quickly became 'part of the furniture' in local life.
Remarkably, less than six years later, I had the honour of being elected Mayor. Whilst my election was historic, it was ultimately a testament to the inclusive and welcoming nature of the good people of Chesham. To them, I will always say: Thank you!
Commuting back into London over the years, I have seen this city losing its lustre particularly post-pandemic. There now seems to be a growing cultural divide between communities, an increase in crime and antisocial behaviour, and governance that is falling short when it comes to addressing critical issues.
As a former Bayswater Londoner, I experienced firsthand the resilience and strength of our communities, and I firmly believe that London has the potential to be even greater, brighter, and more prosperous for us all.
That is why I return to London—to dedicate myself again to public service, this time as your future Mayor of London in 2028, with your support.
As your Mayor of London Candidate in 2028, I will be relentless in my pursuit of stronger businesses, smarter government, and more prosperous communities. If elected, my goals will include:
A Thriving Economy: Reducing unnecessary bureaucracy, supporting small businesses, and making London the best place in the world to start and grow a business.
A Safer London: Tackling crime with a firm yet fair approach—providing stronger support for youth initiatives that prevent crime before it starts, taking uncompromising action on gangs, and bringing back community policing.
A More Affordable London: Addressing the housing crisis by collaborating with the private sector and local councils to build more homes, faster, while ensuring Londoners have real pathways to homeownership.
A Better, World-Class Transport System: Investing in infrastructure, AI, and technology to make TfL more reliable, ensuring Londoners receive the service they deserve, without the constant threat of fare hikes, strikes, and cancellations.
A City for All: Championing social mobility, strengthening social cohesion, and making London a place where everyone—regardless of background—feels and knows they belong, with the opportunity to succeed by integrating into mainstream British life.
